  • 1) Cable trays, trunking, and their supports and hangers should be made of corrosion-resistant rigid materials or undergo anti-corrosion treatment when used in corrosive environments. The anti-corrosion treatment method should meet the requirements of the engineering environment and durability.
  • 2) In sections with fire protection requirements for cable trays, materials such as fire-resistant or flame-retardant boards, nets, etc. can be added to cable ladders and trays to form a closed or semi closed structure. Measures such as applying fire-resistant coatings to the surface of the cable tray and its supports and hangers should be taken, and its overall fire resistance performance should meet the requirements of relevant national regulations or standards.
  • 3) Aluminum alloy cable trays should not be used in places with high fire protection requirements in engineering.
  • 4) The selection of cable ladder width and height should meet the requirements of filling rate. In general, the filling rate of cable ladder can be 40% to 50% for power cables, 50% to 70% for control cables, and a 10% to 25% engineering development margin should be reserved.
  • 5) When selecting the load level of the cable ladder, the working uniform load of the cable tray should not exceed the rated uniform load of the selected cable tray load level. If the actual span of the support and hanger of the cable tray is not equal to 2 meters, the working uniform load should meet the requirements.
  • 6) Under the conditions of meeting corresponding loads, the specifications and dimensions of various components and supports and hangers should match the straight section and bending series of trays and ladders.
  • 7) When selecting the bending or up/down devices of the cable tray, they should not be less than the minimum allowable bending radius of the cable inside the cable tray. 8) For steel cable trays with a span greater than 6m and aluminum alloy cable trays with a span greater than 2m or a load-bearing requirement greater than load level D, strength, stiffness, and stability calculations or experimental verification should be carried out according to engineering conditions.
  • 8) The standard length of straight single pieces for ladder frames, aluminum alloy trays, and ladder frames can be 2, 3, 4, or 6 meters.
  • 9) Cables with different voltages and purposes should not be laid in the same layer of cable tray: A. Cables above 1kV and below 1kV; B. Double circuit cables supplying power to primary loads along the same path; C.Emergency lighting and other lighting cables; D. Power, control, and telecommunications cables. If cables of different levels are laid on the same cable tray, a partition should be added in the middle for isolation.
